Becoming a teenager is all about starting to discover your independence and learning to survive on your own. For many people who don't live in a family with their own Mississauga limousine or have easy access to public transit, one of the first things that you're usually looking forward to is getting your driver's license. But before you can start picking up your friends and cruising around town, you need to learn how to drive properly and pass your G2 test.
Ontario is on a graduated license program and when you're sixteen you're allowed to take the first part of your driver's test. This is the written section and entitled you to get your G1. With a G1 you're permitted to drive with someone else in the car that has had their full license for at least four years. That person must be in the passenger seat with no one else in the front. You could take your parents through your neighborhood to houses for sale in Ajax or drive to school in the morning.

If you take a registered driver's course than you are permitted to take your G2 test after only nine months. Otherwise, you will have to wait a full year until you are able to take the test where you will be allowed to drive all on your own. Many people find that it is well worth it to take driving lessons. As it not only allows you to be able to borrow the car to go out for dinner with friends or to your face hair removal appointment sooner but it also will have you saving some money on your monthly insurance payments.
Your G2 test will allow you to drive anywhere, but it is not the last step in the graduated license system. Within five years of receiving your G2 you will need to take another driving test to get your full G license. You can take this test after one year and then you will simply have to renew your license every five years with a new picture until the age of 65. You can drive freely with everyone else on their way to work or to get their unemployment insurance refunds.
Learning to drive can be a fun and exciting experience, but you should remember that it is also something that you need to take seriously. Those with a G1 or G2 are not allowed to have any alcohol in their system while they're driving no matter their age. You also need to always keep your eyes on the road instead of talking to friends or looking at Vaughan houses for sale as you pass by.
